Math is integral to every part of society. It is especially important in cases of money and things requiring you to spend money such as taxes. You will taxes such as sales tax, income tax, property, and so much more. Ever wondered why you could not buy something with the listed price? This is sales tax. The government take a certain percentage of what of the cost of the item is and adds that percentage to the price of product when you want to buy it. For example, when sales tax is 5%, they will take 5 cents of a 1 dollar product. In addition to this, they will also take money out of your paychecks for taxes such as medicare and social security. Taxes for certain items such as gas is even higher than taxes on other things. Income tax is a tax on income for the taxpayer. If a country has a tax rate of 53%(a lot first world of countries have higher tax rates than this) they will tax that percent of your income. It might even be higher if you are richer or lower if you are poorer. Remember, the taxes you pay help fund wonderful things such as education, the police, roads, and so much more. Do not forget, you can get a tax return if you pay a little too much in taxes that year. As Benjamin Franklin once said “But in this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes”.

This is true. Taxes are based on math. Taxes use different percentages of different things including income and sales. Taxes are affected by different factors and are added up and subtracted with tax write offs. Because of taxes we have many public projects including roads, education, and law (police). We wouldn't have these things open to the public without taxes and the math that is used in taxing.

Taxes are pretty much the root of every government service on program. Thank math for the fact that you have schools, infrastructure, police, and so many more things.

Although taxes may not be something we'd rather think about, it is true that everything about them involves math. And our country would operate much differently if we didn't have taxes - if we didn't have the math behind taxes. So even if we don't notice it, taxes (and that math) is a part of our everyday life.

Just like taxes, math is also unavoidable. Taxes rely on math to find how much to tax someone. They are both just a natural fact of life.

When it comes to taxes, all I think about is math. Math is an important aspect of life no matter the career you choose. Everyone has to deal with taxes and this post is very informational on that.

I feel that this post could help explain to many people how taxes work. Perhaps, it could avoid issues if people knew how much they were paying and what it is used for. I find that one of the most common mathematical concepts is the is/of=x/100, as is the case with taxes.

Taxes are very important in are regular lives. I myself have never had to complete taxes but My parents have told me how nerve-racking it can be. I feel that tax consultants have there has full and have to know every kind of math. But lucky for them they get payed to do this. And yes i agree with you taxes are a lot of numbers and in order to complete it you must understand equations.

Like you said without math taxes would not be possible, and without taxes our country wouldn't function properly. The United States would be absolutely chaotic without taxing the incomes of the citizens. So I think it's safe to say without math our country would not function properly. Great Job, explained very throughly.

Like you said, math plays a major role in taxes. Without math, then there would be no way to calculate how much the tax is. Without a mathematical way to calculate how much the tax will be, then the cashier could over charge someone or undercharge them. I agree with you Sean, math has a lot to do with taxes.
