Math is related in volleyball in many ways. Some ways most people really don't think about. The force around the volleyball its.ef determines how hard and high the ball will be hit. The total number of players on the court determines how much area needs to be covered by each player. On a volleyball court there are six players on the court at a time. The positions differ depending on the player. Before the game starts a serve has to happen. There are two different types of serves. One is a floating serve that glides through the air and over the net and the other serve is a arched serve. The arched serve curves over like a upside down parabola. One position on the volleyball court is the setter. The setter is the person that sets the ball to the hitter which then hits the ball. But before the setter gets the ball the defensive specialist has to pass the ball. This is repeated every time a ball is served. Math is related in volleyball in many ways but at different times. One way is when the ball is passed and how the defensive specialist passing platform is, that in itself makes a triangle. Another way is how the ball is served and what shape it makes. The final way is how the ball is hit. The reason this last one is related is because when she hits the ball it determines not only the speed behind it but how much area she took up when she jumps.

Your post mainly focuses on explaining what happens in volleyball (ex. where a ball goes based on forces) or the shapes in it that can be graphed. I've noticed that when we think about real world applications of mathematics, they're either used consciously in the process of something or they're used to explain how something works (even if it doesn't always matter if we know or not.)

This post does a good job of going over many different mathematical aspects of volleyball, from the surface area of courts to the systems created by players. The mathematical aspects of sports seem to be subconsciously perceived by people whenever they play them. Perhaps, athletes are more capable of seeing real-life aspects of math being applied. Overall, this post brings to life all of the different mathematical concepts that are present in volleyball and explains them in a good way.

Good post. We can obviously see and tell how math can be related to volleyball and many more sports.

I think it's really interesting how math is used in vollyball. I've never really thought about it like this but I think it's really interesting. I've seen people talk about math in other sports but never really volleyball, but I think it's really interesting.

In addition to what you have explained, math is also incorporated within how fast a hitter hits the ball. The person who is passing the ball should determine the amount of force he/she should apply when passing the ball. Great post!
